Aan het woord: Zeref Ezgi Özdoğan
Heyhoi!
Mijn naam is Zeref Ezgi Özdoğan, 21 jaren jong en ik kom uit het mooie Kampen. In mijn vrije tijd houd ik mij bezig met muziek. Sinds mijn vijfde levensjaar ben ik begonnen op de muziekschool in Kampen en bespeel ik de dwarsfluit en piano. Hiernaast zing ik en probeer ik wat te pingelen op de ukelele. Verder heb ik het afgelopen jaar een plantenobsessie ontwikkeld waardoor ik me nu naast muziek ook bezighoudt met planten. Naast muziek en het ophouden van mijn reputatie als de ‘crazy plant lady’ ben ik ook altijd in voor een drankje en vind ik het heerlijk om onderuit op de bank een serie te kijken. Helaas moet er ook nog brood op de plank komen en werk ik daarom minimaal 12 uur in de week bij de klantenservice van The Learning Network.
Op het moment volg ik de opleiding Sociaal Juridische Dienstverlening aan de Hanzehogeschool Groningen. Voordat ik aan de Hanze begon heb ik de studie Social Work afgerond op het mbo in Zwolle. Een leuke stad, maar ik vond het wel tijd voor iets nieuws. Om die reden heb ik mij aangemeld voor een studie in Groningen en woon ik hier nu op kamers. Naast het volgen van mijn studie ben ik dit jaar ook de intern coördinator geworden van studievereniging Ad Legem. Of ik hier ooit nog bedenkingen over had? Zeker niet. Ik werk samen met vier andere geweldige meiden en het is de perfecte manier om mij verder te ontwikkelen. Daarnaast heb ik ook een hele leuke tijd!
Waarom ik ervoor heb gekozen om aan de Hanzehogeschool te studeren? Nou, dat is een grappig verhaal. Voordat ik me voor deze studie had aangemeld, wist ik niet eens wat deze studie inhield en heb ik hier geen kennis over opgedaan. Volgens mij was ik zelfs nooit eerder in Groningen geweest. Shocking! Maar hoe ben ik dan ooit op het idee gekomen om aan de Hanzehogeschool te studeren? Tijdens mijn stage op het mbo vertelde iemand mij dat hij razend enthousiast was over deze studie van de Hanzehogeschool, dus ik dacht: “Ach, waarom ook niet? Het scheelt wat tijd en dan heb ik een vervolgopleiding.” Niet de beste tactiek, maar alles is wel op z’n pootjes terechtgekomen. Nu ook met een doel voor ogen, namelijk leerplichtambtenaar.
Ik kijk erg uit naar aankomend jaar waarin we weer fysieke colleges hebben en er (hopelijk) meer versoepeld zal worden, waardoor de activiteiten van de studievereniging ook weer fysiek plaats kunnen vinden. Hopelijk hebben jullie nu een beeld van mij gekregen en als je ooit in bent voor een jamsessie, zie ik je berichtje wel voorbijkomen. 😉

Hey there!
My name is Zeref Ezgi Özdoğan, 21 years young and I’m from the beautiful town of Kampen. In my spare time I’m involved in music. I started attending the music school in Kampen when I was 5 years old and I play the flute and the piano. I also sing and try to play the ukulele. Furthermore, in the past year I have developed a plant obsession, which means that in addition to music I am now occupied with plants. Besides music and keeping up my reputation as the ‘crazy plant lady’ I’m always in for a drink and I love to relax on the couch and watch a series. Unfortunately, I also need to make a living so I work at least 12 hours a week at The Learning Network’s customer service desk.
At the moment I am studying Social Legal Services at the Hanze University of Applied Sciences in Groningen. Before I started at the Hanze, I completed the study Social Work at the mbo in Zwolle. It was a nice town, but I thought it was time for something new. For that reason I registered for a study in Groningen and I now live in my room here. Besides following my studies, I also became the commissioner of internal affairs of study association Ad Legem this year. Whether I ever had any reservations about this? Certainly not. I work together with four other great girls and it is the perfect way to develop myself further. Besides that, I have a really good time!
Why did I choose to study at the Hanze? Well, that’s a funny story. Before I applied for this study, I didn’t know what it entailed and I didn’t learn anything about it. In fact, I think I had never even been to Groningen before. Shocking! But how did I ever get the idea to study at the Hanze? During my internship when I in mbo, someone told me that he was very enthusiastic about this study at the Hanze University of Applied Sciences, so I thought, ‘Oh well, why not? It saves time and then I have a further education.’ Not the best tactic, but everything ended up on its feet. Now I also have a goal in mind, which is to become a attendance officer.
I’m really looking forward to next year when we will have physical lectures again and there will (hopefully) be more flexibility, so that the activities of the study association can also take place physically. Hopefully you got an idea of me and if you’re ever up for a jam session, I’ll see your message. 😉
